New for 2012, you can now talk to me for all types of bird photography advice or training by telephone or online (evenings and weekends).
1. Traditional telephone call.
2. Skype online session for audio or video call, or instant message chat. This can include screen (desktop) sharing for image critiques, processing advice, etc., if needed.
Using these options, I can help you with your bird photography wherever you are in the world. To the best of my knowledge, I am the only bird photographer offering these services!
To arrange a session, just email me with details of the help you need and we can arrange a time for you to call me. Calls are normally pre-paid by PayPal at the following rates (I'm happy to provide rates for alternative currencies on request):
Up to 15 minutes: £20
Between 15 and 30 minutes: £30
Between 30 and 60 minutes: £50
Between 60 and 90 minutes: £75
Between 90 and 120 minutes: £100
Subsequent hours: £40 per hour.
To be fair to you, I will meet your needs as quickly as possible and then refund you any unneeded time in line with the above rates. For example, if you pre-pay £50 for an hour and we're done in 20 minutes, I will refund you £20.
Are you thinking about buying some new camera gear and want to make sure you don't waste your money?
Do you want to go through your camera settings to make sure they're optimised?
Do you want to talk through how you could improve some of your images?
Are you struggling with image editing tools such as Photoshop?
Are there any aspects of bird photography you haven't yet mastered that may be holding back your results?
If the answer to any of these questions is "yes", contact me to arrange a chat!.
Alternatively, if you want more than a telephone or online chat, I run Workshops to provide tuition on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Here's a testimonial from one of the first people to use my Helpline service:
"I have been shooting birds for about a year now and getting some good shots. I have been getting various conflicting advice from amateurs I have met in the field. I felt that I wanted to get some further advice from an experienced bird photographer to help enable me to raise my bird photography to another level. I knew of Mike Atkinson's web tutorials (which have been invaluable to me) and which are spot on. I then noticed that he had started providing Skype tutorials. A few E mail exchanges and a time was agreed. To talk to Mike one to one in real time and to see and hear his responses and advice on numerous aspects from camera operation to field craft and processing pictures has given me the boost I needed. I'm sure if I remember to take on his advice I can raise my game. Mike’s responses to all my queries were quick, clear and very thorough. It was also very good to hear his approach to various issues and problems I encounter in the field. His real time critique and some praise of some of my pictures was both extremely helpful, encouraging and an enjoyable experience." David Moran, Singapore
